Giving Thanks

Being in the wedding and social stationery industry means we get to witness a lot of joy and gratitude - and help spread that joy and gratitude every day of the year. This is the time of year that we all stop and reflect on those wonderful things. At Dauphine Press we are so grateful for all of the amazing retailers, designers and couples we have the opportunity to work with each day.

One regional publication, 805 Living, published a great issue this month discussing many things to be grateful for - big and small. We are especially thrilled to see a couple of our letterpress thank you notes included in their "Giving Thanks" feature. Again, one of the small ways we are lucky to be a participant in spreading joy!

We hope you enjoy this great read, time with family and friends and counting all of the things you are grateful for this weekend. From all of us at Dauphine Press, we wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving!

Fine Details from The Fine Print

We have many exciting projects, large and small, happening here at Dauphine Press and today we wanted to share some of them with you. Enjoy!

First, a little eye candy. We are loving these custom neon green edged business cards that came off press recently:

One of our amazing retailers, Sweet Paper in La Jolla, California, recently contributed to The Bride Suite blog with one of their Concierge posts. The Bride Suite's Concierge posts include advice, tips and trends from wedding professionals. The ladies at Sweet Paper included a collection of their favorite invitations, stationery, gifts and paper accessories in their post -- and our Kensington suite made the cut!

The team at Colin Cowie Weddings included our Marinwood letterpress trifold design in their article on their favorite save the date cards. If you haven't seen it yet, their new website is a great resource for brides! Not to mention tons of fun to lose yourself in with all of the gorgeous images and details!

In real wedding news, we love how much we can learn about a bride, her groom and their event through their wedding invitations. It's the ultimate reward for us to see photos from the wedding day after working with a bride on her stationery suite. Here's a collection of gorgeous weddings photos for a bride we worked with through another amazing retailer, Taylor Street Paper in Chevy Chase, Maryland.

Dauphine Press on the cover of Stationery Trends!

We were delighted to see letterpress + foil on the cover of the Fall 2011 issue of Stationery Trends magazine. Our Belvedere design was chosen by the editors for the cover and we couldn't be more excited!

 

In addition, we were also included in the cover story by editor Sarah Schwartz "The Four B's". It's quite an honor to be included in an article with the subheading "Speak to the newest crop of celebrants with the freshest designs"! Our team is just beaming with pride! Another beloved design, Carneros, was included in the images paired with the article, which can be found here on the Stationery Trends website.

Sneak Peek Series (10 of 22) - The Rutherford Suite

It’s time for another one of our Custom Wedding Portfolio II Sneak Peeks, where we share a glimpse into the process our designers went through while creating some of our newest designs. We love all of our new designs and it’s hard to decide which one to share next, but this week we chose to share the Rutherford suite after seeing the Salmon & Parchment color combination in a few places, including this post on the Martha Stewart Weddings blog and this color palette post by Perfect Bound. The design could work well with just about any color palette, but our designers chose this sweet, flirty combination as a modern twist on a traditional romantic pink wedding.

 

Our Rutherford suite was created with a certain bride in mind - one who has a lot of details to share with her guests. With multiple cards included with the suite, we took the opportunity to layer those cards with different patterns so that they could be stair-stepped in the pocket fold for visual impact. Envelopments pocket folds are perfect for this type of suite since they provide a stylish way to keep all of the many details in one place (plus, we can pair any of our designs with any color and format pocket fold they have to offer!). We love dressing up the outside of the pocket with more luscious letterpress too. The pattern on the wide letterpress printed belly band wrapped around the London Fog colored pocket fold gives a suggestion of what guests can expect inside … much like this imaginary bride’s event and the invite itself. It’s all about the layers and discovering all of the many details that this bride has planned (for months and months!) for her guests.

 

The main invitation card features the font HT Pasticceria designed by Ryoichi Tsunekawa of Nagoya, Japan. The typeface is based on Italian shopfront lettering and wallpaint advertisements from the 1950s, which we paired with a textile-inspired background pattern - a perfect fit for our vintage modern aesthetic.
